How to Recognise Fake Pagan Profiles

Some patterns are obvious. Others take a little longer.

Fake profiles are used for romance scams, attention and disruption. A Pagan label does not make an account genuine.

Common signs

  • Photographs that look professionally modelled or reverse-search to stock or celebrity images.
  • Very new accounts with little detail.
  • Immediate intensity — declarations of connection before any real conversation.
  • Reluctance to video call or meet in daylight in a public place.
  • Stories that keep shifting when questioned gently.
  • Any request for money, gifts, or financial help.

Spiritual window dressing

Some scammers learn enough vocabulary to sound plausible. Long messages about twin flames, sudden psychic certainty, or elaborate shared past lives can be a form of flattery rather than evidence of sincerity. Slow the pace. Ask ordinary questions. See whether the answers stay consistent.

What to do

Stop engaging. Report the profile. Do not send further personal information. If money has already moved, contact your bank and, where relevant, the police.
